Assistant Professor: I am an Assistant Professor conducting research and teaching at South Dakota State University, along with my husband, Dr. Brian Britt, whose work is in computational social science. I'm working on projects that try to make a difference in our lives, from designing safe-sex campaigns to studying how classic behavioral theories can help with better research design. A top priority of my research has been working with my community partners and faculty collaborators on providing health resources to underserved or at-risk populations, increasing knowledge and providing education on vaccines and diseases that affect rural populations, and the use of tailored social media campaigns to address widespread behavioral change. These projects make use of both theory, method, and practice and go beyond being in the "ivory tower" due to their practical application that serve the public.
I earned my B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. I will always be a Boilermaker, but I'm now proud to be a Jackrabbit at SDSU!
Art: I enjoy painting and illustrating and have been doing so ever since I could pick up a pencil. I often drew a lot of family pets when I was a kid. From my gallery, you can see that has not changed!
