In an attempt to revitalize a re-emergence to the deviantArt community, I thought it'd be more than appropriate to share some new art. This isn't quite so new-- a commission finished in November 2004, it's an example of some of the experimentalism I've been trying. I am trying a lot of new things with my art. As such, I'm pretty embarassed of my current gallery-- haven't quite decided what pieces I'll keep and what ones I'll toss, but it'll be a good 70% of the gallery.
That tangent aside, I chose this pieces because it was a painting that I had a lot of FUN with. I had a lot of freedom in selecting the colors in the piece, so I spent an extra amount of time working on that. Composition-wise, I'm not so satisfied with it anymore-- I always thought that the way I drew this, the scene should be extended, to have more of a majestic feeling. I didn't quite do that. :\ I am pretty happy with the colors, but my execution of those was NOT so good-- my technique was pretty boring. Anyway, done in Photoshop CS on a Mac.
