Associate Professor: I am an Associate Professor conducting research and teaching at the University of Alabama, along with my husband, Dr. Brian Britt, whose work is in computational social science. A top priority of my research has been working with faculty collaborators and community partners to develop health communication projects that can address issues related to underserved or at-risk populations, such as increasing knowledge and providing education on vaccines and diseases that affect rural populations, and the use of tailored social media campaigns to address widespread behavioral change. I also study video game subcultures and online community. Some of that work has implications for my health communication research.

I earned my B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. at Purdue University.

Art: I enjoy painting and illustrating and have been doing so ever since I could pick up a pencil. I often drew a lot of family pets when I was a kid. From my gallery, you can see that has not changed!
