Assistant Professor: I am an assistant professor conducting research and teaching at The University of Akron. I'm working on projects that try to make a difference in our lives. For example, I'm working with a research team on developing a new anti-smoking campaign in the Akron area. Another project deals with developing an understanding, and subsequently, creating materials on the HPV vaccine. My biggest project/love deals with understanding mobile-mediated navigation and affordances (e.g., Norman & Skinner, 2007; Bandura, 1986), using traditional psychological theories as guidance, but practice by actually having participatory engagement. I earned my BA, MA, and PhD at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Go Boilermakers!
Art: I enjoy painting and illustrating and have been doing so ever since my dad brought home an early version of Adobe Photoshop when I was 13.
I am currently not taking any commissions. Art is my passion and if I were to profit from it, I wouldn't be doing it for the very personal reasons that I do. I am open to creating art for nonprofit organizations foot help others. You're welcome to talk to me about this. I want to share my art with the world, but not for profit!
